The Book Tower is arguably one of the most prominent structures in the Detroit skyline. Designed by Louis Kamper, the Book Tower construction was completed in 1926. The building deteriorated over time until purchased by Bedrock in 2015.
RAM Construction and Bedrock partnered to restore the Book Tower to its former glory. First, in 2016, the building elevations extending along Washington Boulevard were cleaned and the carytids (maiden statues) at the underside of the soffit were removed and completely restored.
The tower cleaning and restoration commenced in 2017; the façade is in the process of being carefully cleaned and the terracotta is currently being inspected for replacement.
RAM Construction Services is proud to play a role in the revitalization of Detroit.
